Borgogno : Riserva 2006

2006 Barolo, pure Nebbiolo from Piedmont

This 2006 Barolo Riserva of Borgogno is a pure Nebbiolo aged for 5 years in wooden barrels. It exhibits a garnet-tinted deep red colour with vermilion highlights. The nose expresses with intensity and clearness heady fragrances of blueberry and smashed blackberry, which mix with clove, fresh liquorice and black chocolate notes. These are Nebbiolo characteristics. The attack on this 2006 Barolo Riserva palate is precise and bold, whereas the finish is softer.
