Château de la Maltroye : Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru "Grandes Ruchottes" 2009

The straw-coloured yellow 2009 Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Grandes Ruchottes reveals fruity aromas on the nose, such as vine peach or pineapple, followed by more floral notes. On the palate, it offers great power with more buttery and toasted flavours. The Château de la Maltroye is the proprietor of an about 60 year old Chardonnay vineyard, of 0.29 hectares in the South of Chassagne: Les Grandes Ruchottes. This cuvee was aged in oak barrels, among which 60% new barrels, for 12 months.
