Description
A fresh, elegant and powerful white wine from Sauternes
Chateau de Myrat is a Classified Growth white wine from the Sauternes appellation. The family property is a vineyard of 22 hectares, located on the splendid stony soil of Haut-Barsac. The soil is composed of clay-limestone on a sub-soil of cracked limestone. The wine is aged in barrels (30% are new) for 18 months. The 2016 vintage is a blend of 88% Semillon, 8% Sauvignon Blanc, and 4% Muscadelle.
Hand-picked, the 2016 harvest occurred on September 29th and ended on November 4. The grapes were exceptionally aromatic and pure thanks to the botrytis.
Chateau Myrat 2016 is fresh, elegant and powerful. The nose releases bouquets of candied peaches, citrus fruit zests and subtle notes of ginger. The wine is lively and fruity on the palate. The finish is spicy and woody and has a magnificent finish. An extremely fine vintage.
