Château La Nerthe : Châteauneuf-du-Pape 2012

2012 Chateau La Nerthe is a blend of 44% Grenache Noir, 37% Syrah, 14% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault, from about 40 year old vines. 
This 2012 vintage exhibits a pretty purple-tinted dark colour. The 2012 Chateau La Nerthe is powerful and composed of rich notes of blackberry, blackcurrant and spices. The palate experiences the same sensation of richness. This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is thick and possesses very sweet tannins. On finish, this vintage offers fruit aromas of red berry and a great length as well as notes of well-ripped cherry, pastry, vanilla and roast. The 2012 Chateau La Nerthe is a very young wine with a great ageing potential.
