Description
A red wine from Margaux with a soft and long finish
Château Margaux is a 1er Cru classified in 1855 from the Margaux appellation. The terroir is typical of the appellation and the cuvées of this mythical property benefit from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. After four vintages with fairly late harvests, 1981 marked a return to normalcy. The flowering occurred in a fast and homogeneous manner in June. The month of August was marked by an intense heat and light rains that rejuvenated the vines in September. The harvest went very well, thanks to ideal climatic conditions.
At tasting, the Château Margaux 1981 proves to be a very good vintage. The bouquet is fine, distinguished, elegant and classic. The wine is balanced on the palate and the finish shows tenderness, softness and superb length. Enjoy now.
