Description
2002 Chablis 1er Cru
Vaillon is a “climat” (a specific vineyard) in the Chablis 1er Cru appellation (Burgundy). The south-east facing vineyard lies on Kimmeridgian limestone-clay and marl soils. Daniel-Etienne Defaix 40 year-old vines produce a delicious concentration of the Chardonnay. The 2012 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillon shows a heavy golden yellow, almost canary hue. The mesmerizing, luscious, and rich bouquet exudes litchi and mango scents followed by tertiary aromas such as fresh hazelnut. Aeration brings out similar fragrances with added hints of dry apricot. The palate offers a lovely attacked drenched in fleshy fruit flavours. This Chablis 1er Cru is meant to be understood. Mission accomplished!
