Domaine Gourt de Mautens : Côtes du Rhône Villages Rasteau 2008

The 2008 Côtes du Rhône Villages Rasteau of Domaine Gourt de Mautens comes from an exceptional 13 hectares biodynamic vineyard. These plots are divided in terraces that enjoy a west orientation and calcareous-clay soils which give character to the wine. The latter is a blend of Grenache Noir, Carignan, Mourvedre, Syrah, Counoise, Cinsault, Vaccarese and Terret Noir. The 2008 Côtes du Rhône Villages Rasteau of Domaine Gourt de Mautens was aged in wooden tun for 24 to 36 months. The aromatic bouquet is dominated by floral and smoky notes as well as woodland hints. On the palate, this Côtes du Rhône is supple with fine, blended and silky tannins. The finish is fresh and long for a complex and balanced wine.
