Located in the southwest of the appellation of Pomerol, Chateau Taillefer was the first property acquired by the Moueix Family. The Chateau has a long history, and vines were already surrounding the elegant chateau by 1764. Today, Catherine Moueix manages the property while Denis Dubourdieu acts as the wine maker and consultant. Chateau Taillefer's 12 hectares of vineyards are south facing south and are planted on a gravely-sand soil. Planted with 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, the grapes are hand harvested and carefully sorted to produce wines that express the terroir.
