Description
2005 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru from Burgundy.
The 2005 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru Les Quatre Journaux of Louis Latour is a worthy representative of the Burgundy fine red wines. Louis Latour has been the proprietor of a part of the Romanée-Saint-Vivant (0.80 hectares) since 1898. The name of the cuvee refers to a journal which is an old measure, used in Burgundy that corresponds to the total area a wine-grower could plough in a day (0.80 hectares).
The garnet-tinted bright red coloured wine reveals a strong and complex nose. This 2005 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru Les Quatre Journaux gives off elegant blackcurrant bud and mild spices notes with a hint of peppermint. On the palate, the texture is silky, and the intense and long finish perfectly enhances one of the finest red wines of Maison Louis Latour.
