The 2009 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru of Olivier Leflaive reveals a strong and classic character. The Corton-Charlemagne wines are very complex because their terroirs are dominated by the limestone on the steep soils of the hill of Corton. The golden yellow coloured wine with orangey highlights gives off restrained mineral, white fruit and mild spices notes. On the palate, apple, pear and grilled almond aromas coat the palate with an incredible intensity. The structure of this 2009 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is elegant and delivers a sharp wine that has not peaked yet.
