2008 Montrachet Grand Cru, Burgundy.
The 2008 Montrachet Grand Cru of Olivier Leflaive is complex and rich. The plots of Montrachet Grand Cru are composed of hard limestone which lays on a brown earth soil. Olivier Leflaive combined outstanding subtlety and firmness. This 2008 Montrachet Grand Cru displays a splendid golden yellow colour with orangey highlights. The nose is complex and mineral on developed oak as well as vanilla notes, and a hint of salt. The palate is profound and rich; it finely and harmoniously expresses unctuous but also intense notes of apple and limestone. The lingering finish is beautiful.
