Paul Jaboulet-Aîné : Domaine de Saint-Pierre 2009

Located near the small chapel of Saint Pierre, on Cornas tableland, Domaine de Saint Pierre is the property of Domaine Paul Jaboulet-Aîné. Its 3.9 hectares of Syrah are facing south and are composed a granitic rock with limestone and a silty deposit. This 2009 Domaine de Saint Pierre vintage displays an almost black colour with ruby-tinted glints. The nose is powerful and expressive: it gives off aromas of baked red and black berry, as well as liquorice with subtle empyreumatic notes. The palate is perfectly structured by firm tannins that evolve into a beautiful breadth. This 2009 Cornas St Pierre has a lavish finish on fruits and length, which foreshadows a long ageing.
