Thierry Germain - Domaine des Roches Neuves : Terres Chaudes 2015

From 35-45 year old vines on average, the 2015 Terres Chaudes of Domaine des Roches Neuves de Thierry Germain is a Cabernet Franc single-grape wine. 
This wine offers a ruby-tinted bright red colour with purple and cherry tints to it. On the nose, it is shy and distinguished, it foreshadows good promises. It then expresses red and dark berries such as blackcurrant, blueberry, cherry, blackberry, raspberry, and is accompanied by floral notes of iris, violet and peony as well as vegetal hints (cedar, mint) and spices (pepper, clove and cinnamon). On the palate, the 2015 Terres Chaudes possesses a straight attack on a light stewed fruit which brings some thickness. This 2015 Saumur-Champigny develops a good acidity enhanced by eucalyptus and bergamot aromas. Alcohol brings solidity but also suppleness to the whole. The 2015 Terres Chaudes offers fine and elegant tannins and its finish is nicely lingering.
