This 2011 Allegrini is a splendid Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. Allegrini produced a deep, scrumptious, expressive and generous wine. Although very young, the nose expresses right away a lot of freshness with fresh black fig aromas, followed by intense spicy scents that seem to wrap the juicy black cherry notes. Complexity, precision and length mark this remarkable wine with fruity retro-olfaction (black cherry).The mid-palate is imposing but does not alter the wine's balance on long, smooth, almost creamy tannins. To conclude, this wine is an iron fist in a velvet glove, and it is impressive.
