Description
A typical fine white Bordeaux wine by Château Talbot
The estate
A 4th Classified Growth of Saint-Julien, Château Talbot is one of the iconic references of Haut-Médoc. Acquired by Désiré Cordier in 1918, Château Talbot is today managed by Nancy Bignon-Cordier and her husband, Jean-Paul Bignon.
The vineyard
The Château Talbot vineyard is a real treasure, covering 110 hectares of vines all in one piece, in the heart of the Saint-Julien appellation. These vines have an ideal location on the edge of the Gironde estuary, planted on ridges of Médoc gravel and alluvial deposits. 5.2 hectares of the Château Talbot vineyard are dedicated to the production of white wines.
The wine
Caillou Blanc by Château Talbot pays tribute to Georges Cordier, who had the idea of replanting white grape varieties in the Médoc at the end of the 1930s. Featuring a blend of sauvignon blanc and Sémillon, Caillou Blanc by Château Talbot invites you to discover a beautiful dry white expression of Bordeaux in a wine with great aromatic freshness and fantastic liveliness on the palate.
The winemaking
100% in barrels, 30 of which are new oak.
The blend
Sauvignon blanc (76%), sémillon (24%).
