Description
The elegance and vivacity of a Tuscan red wine
The estate
The Castellare di Castellina estate, nestled in the heart of the Tuscan hills, is an emblematic jewel of the Chianti Classico region. Founded in 1968 following the merger of five estates, the estate has established itself as one of the ambassadors of Italian wine. Combining tradition and innovation, the estate's creations are as rich as they are unique.
The vineyard
Located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, the vineyard stretches across 80 hectares near the small village of Castellina. On the heights of a natural amphitheatre, this terroir planted on clay-limestone soils produces full-bodied, powerful Tuscan wines.
The wine
Produced since 1979, Castellare di Castellina's Riserva is a Chianti Classico wine made from indigenous varieties such as Sangiovese and Canaiolo.
Winemaking and ageing
The wine is vinified in stainless steel vats and aged in French oak barrels for 15 months.
Blend
Sangiovese (95%)
Canaiolo (5%)
