Description
1999 Champagne
Maison Philipponnat's Clos des Goisses is produced on 5.5 hectares (13.5 acres) walled vineyard located on the most prestigious slope in Champagne. The clos is one of the rarest, oldest, and steepest of the region. Clos de Goisse was named after the 45 degree hillside: in the old Champagne dialect, Gois or Goisse means a very steep slope. The 1999 Clos de Goisse is 65% Pinot Noir ad 35% Chardonnay.
This champagne reveals a gold colour and a fine and delicate mousse. The nose exudes expressions of mineral, chalk, and smoky with hints of white peach and flowers. The 1999 Clos de Goisse offers a powerful palate, very intense, yet with lovely precision. Magnificent and elegant, this vintage is very detailed and aromatic.
