The robe of the PhilipponnatCuvée 1522 Rosé 2003 offers an intense pink colour, with a fine and elegant effervescence. On the nose, the bouquet releases an aromatic palette of small and very riped red berries, such as smashed strawberries and rapsberries. On the palate, Cuvée 1522 Rosé 2003 unveils itself with vibrancy on a remarkable freshness, releasing flavors of very riped red berries wonderfully paired with a minerality of great purity.

Wine Advocate-Parker : The 2003 Extra Brut Rose Premier Cru Cuvee 1522 is soft, round and open. It offers plenty of early appeal, but doesn't have anywhere near the complexity or sheer interest as the blanc 1522. Sweet red berry and spice notes develop in the glass, but there is less of journey here than with the blanc. Hints of crushed flowers, rose petals and crushed rocks add a measure of complexity on the finish. Everything is pretty straightforward from the very first taste. I tasted two disgorgements, the first from August 2010 and the second from a year earlier, July 2009. Not surprisingly, the 2009 disgorgement was richer and round owing to more time on the cork. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015.
