Description
This 2011 Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire of Château Coussin is a blend of 3 grape varieties: the main one is Syrah, followed by an equal amount of Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes of this wine were completely destemmed and the wine benefited from fermentation in vats and an ageing process in stainless steel tanks, in order to essentially express the fruity and pleasant character of the wine. This 2011 Château Coussin exhibits a pretty dark garnet-tinted red colour. A large palette of aromas is released in the glass. The fruit expresses a great purity and frankness without compromise. The Syrah is enjoyable and is characteristic for spicy aromas and black flowers; the whole is barely empyreumatic. On the mid-palate, the taste echoes the spicy structure of the nose in a sensation of freshness (chocolate mint and liquorice) and balance. This Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire is light thanks to the alcohol level of the Grenache varietal which is well-proportioned. The pepper finish that gives dynamism to the whole, can be appreciated. This wine can be served until 2020.
