An airy and fine red wine from Mercurey 1er Cru

The Mercurey 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" from Château de Chamirey is a single-varietal Pinot Noir red wine produced in the Mercurey 1er Cru appellation. The vineyard benefits from clay-limestone soils which are predominantly clayey. The ageing of the wine is carried out for 15 months on average and exclusively in oak barrels (40% of which are new).

At tasting, the Mercurey 1er Cru "Clos du Roi" 2011 of Château de Chamirey presents a pretty deep ruby colour. Airy and fine, the nose reveals aromas of Morello cherries.
