A fruity and gourmand Mercurey Village par excellence

Produced on 10 small parcels in village and 3 plots of Premier Cru (in Sazenay, Champs-Martin, Clos L'Évêque), the Mercurey Village of Château de Chamirey of the Domaines Devillard is a Pinot Noir which draws its style from clay-limestone plots that are predominantly clayey.

Chateau de Chamirey Mercurey Village 2016 is a Mercurey with a clear ruby colour with raspberry reflections. The nose is very fruity, gourmand even with scents of red fruits and some spices. The delivery on the whole features a beautiful freshness. The palate is gourmand, in keeping with the long-lasting aromatic expression on the nose, and offers an elegant and juicy mid-palate. This is undoubtedly a gourmet wine par excellence.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2016 Mercurey from the Château de Chamirey is a very attractive introductory cuvée that's assembled from ten different plots dotted all over the appellation. The wine offers up an attractive bouquet of cherries, cassis and sweet forest floor, followed by a supple, velvety and medium-bodied palate with a nicely layered core of fruit and melting tannins.
