Château de Myrat 2016

Bordeaux - Sauternes - White Château de Myrat Château de Myrat 2016 1555/16
  • Parker : 92-94

A fresh, elegant and powerful white wine from Sauternes

Chateau de Myrat is a Classified Growth white wine from the Sauternes appellation. The family property is a vineyard of 22 hectares, located on the splendid stony soil of Haut-Barsac. The soil is composed of clay-limestone on a sub-soil of cracked limestone. The wine is aged in barrels (30% are new) for 18 months. The 2016 vintage is a blend of 88% Semillon, 8% Sauvignon Blanc, and 4% Muscadelle.

Hand-picked, the 2016 harvest occurred on September 29th and ended on November 4. The grapes were exceptionally aromatic and pure thanks to the botrytis.

Chateau Myrat 2016 is freshelegant and powerful. The nose releases bouquets of candied peachescitrus fruit zests and subtle notes of ginger. The wine is lively and fruity on the palate. The finish is spicy and woody and has a magnificent finish. An extremely fine vintage

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2016 Myrat has a very perfumed bouquet with touches of petrol at first, although that recedes and leaves some lovely citrus/honeyed fruit. The palate is well balanced with a crisp line of acidity. There is plenty of vibrant, energetic fruit here and great precision on the finish. Dry Myrat has been on a roll recently and this continues their purple patch of excellent Sauternes.
