Description

A great white wine from Pessac-Léognan by Château Haut-Bergey

The estate
Situated in the appellation of Pessac-Léognan, Château Haut-Bergey belongs to Sylviane Garcin. This Léognan estate has experienced a fantastic evolution over the past two decades thanks to the significant work carried out both in the vineyard, as well as in the vat room and the winery. Château Haut-Bergey today stands out for its powerful red wines and white wines typical of the Pessac-Léognan appellation

The vineyard
The Château Haut-Bergey vineyard covers 70 hectares, out of which 42 hectares of vines are in production and planted in sandy-gravelly soils upon a clay subsoil. The vineyard is certified for organic and biodynamic viticulture, practicing grassing between the rows of vines, earthing and unearthing by foot. The vineyard and wines of Château Haut-Bergey are Ecocert and Demeter certified.

The blend
Sauvignon Blanc (95%), complemented by Sémillon (5%).

The winemaking
In large barrels.

The ageing
8 months in barrels of 300L, 400L and 500L.
