The estate
Built in the 18th century, Château La Tour Blanche is currently home to the La Tour Blanche School of Viticulture and Oenology. Ranking as a Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, Château La Tour Blanche, which has been owned by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region since 2010, now enjoys an educational purpose while contributing to the history of fine Sauternes wines.
The vineyard
Château La Tour Blanche is a Sauternes wine made from a 40-hectare vineyard. This terroir benefits from the influence of morning fog, which favours the development of Botrytis cinerea, the fungus that gives rise to noble rot. Château La Tour Blanche produces elegant wines, in its shady and tranquil cellars, that boast the characteristics of the appellation.
The year 2021 marks the official start of the estate's conversion to organic farming.
The vintage
The vineyard was affected by a major frost during spring and then strong mildew pressure during the summer season. The manual harvest was carried out from September 29th to October 30th in three successive selections. Despite particularly low yields (1.2 hl/ha), this vintage gave rise to a wine that harmoniously combines freshness and power.
Vinification and ageing
The wine is aged in new barrels.

The tasting
Nose
The nose blends fragrances of white flowers and citrus fruit zest.
Palate
Ample and refined, the palate is seduced by this wine’s freshness. Throughout the tasting experience, aromas of citrus fruit, candied lemon and bergamot seamlessly blend with gourmet notes of pastries, candied citrus fruit and vanilla.
Service
For an optimal tasting experience, serve between 10 and 11°C.
Cellaring
In order to express its full range of aromas, Château La Tour Blanche 2021 can be kept in the cellar until 2042.
