2014 Pessac-Leognan, Cru Classé from Bordeaux
The 2014 Olivier is 78% Sauvignon, 20% Semillon, 2% Muscadelle. The varietals were harvested from September 4th to September 16th. This wine is clear and expressive on the nose. It also offers a large palette of citrus aromas (grapefruit, lime), followed by rhubarb compote that confers freshness and bitterness. On the palate the attack is frank and coats the palate with acid freshness. This white Pessac-Leognan, although quite thick, remains brisk. It is a dry white from a great vintage.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2014 Olivier Blanc has retained that attractive mineral-drenched bouquet that I enjoyed so much out of barrel: fine delineation and a sense of energy bursting from the glass. The palate is very fresh on the entry with lime cordial, kiwi fruit and a touch of lemongrass, less shrill than it showed at primeur but with an engaging, lip-smacking salinité on the persistent finish. Excellent white Pessac-Léognan.
