Description
A great red wine from Saint-Emilion in an exceptional vintage
In line with the superb 2015, the 2016 vintage of the Château Palais Cardinal is part of the years that will mark the history of the estate.
Hailed by the press and international critics, Château Palais Cardinal 2016 was also awarded the Gold Medal at the 2019 Bordeaux Competition.
The fruit of the historic property located in the commune of Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrens, in the south of the Saint-Émilion appellation, Château Palais Cardinal 2016 was born on a 22-hectare vineyard with a great sandy-gravelly soil. The vineyard is made from a selection of vines with an average age of 40 years.
Elaborated from a blend of Merlot (73%), Cabernet Sauvignon (22%) and Cabernet Franc (5%), Château Palais Cardinal 2016 is aged in oak barrels for 15 months (100% new oak).
Born at the dawn of a very fine vintage for the region of Bordeaux, Château Palais Cardinal 2016 embodies the excellence of Saint-Emilion's great wines by remaining faithful to the estate's style with a powerful, fruity and balanced wine with a beautiful silky texture on the palate.
