Cordero Di Montezemolo watches over a vineyard comprised of nearly 51 hectares, situated in the exceptional terroirs of the Barolo appellation. The estate's wines are renowned well beyond the Italian borders for their complexity, power and great ageing potential.
Cordero di Montezemolo's Barbera d'Alba 2020 is made from vineyards located between La Morra, Alba and the Roero region. The vines are planted on a patchwork of soils and enjoy an array of altitudes and sun exposures. The soil is composed of silty clay, sand and trace elements.
The vinification and ageing
Hand-picked at the end of September, the grapes are fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks for about 8 to 10 days. Following the racking process, malolactic fermentation is carried out in different-sized barrels from France and Slavonia. The wine is aged for 5 to 6 months in barrels, followed by a further few months of bottle ageing before the wine is put on the market.
This Cordero di Montezemolo Barbera d'Alba 2020 is a 100% Barbera.
This wine is an intense and brilliant garnet colour.
A nose that opens up to a rich aromatic palette, combining fruity and floral fragrances with aromas of spices, tobacco and cocoa.
This wine seduces the palate due to its smoothness, its fullness as well as its extremely fine tannins.
For an optimal tasting experience, serve at 16°C.
This Barbera d'Alba wine can be kept in the cellar until at least 2030 in order to reveal its full aromatic range.
