Domaine des Perdrix : Echezeaux Grand cru 2013

Burgundy - Echezeaux - Red - 13.5° Domaine des Perdrix Domaine des Perdrix 2013 E191/13
  • Parker : 90
  • J. Robinson : 16
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting in Beaune, the 2013 Echézeaux Grand Cru was a little sullen at first, more black fruit developing with aeration, yet remaining straight-laced and tertiary in style, tobacco notes emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin. This is a bit coarse and feels austere, does not really flow towards the finish that cuts away early. It is a wine that needs to look at itself in the mirror and ask how it could improve because I do quite admire its style. Tasted September 2016.
