Description
2012 Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru, pure Chardonnay, Burgundy.
The 2012 Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Macherelles from Domaine Hubert Lamy is pure Chardonnay. The vines grow on a mainly calcareous- clay soil and enjoy a good East orientation. The Macherelles climat (land with unique combination of weather conditions and soil composition) could get its name from high walls or property-line walls since a great amount of them exist on those lands. The vineyard is harvested under supervised control and enjoys a skilful vinification. The 2012 Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Macherelles was aged in oak barrels for 17 months. This Burgundy wine displays a very pale yellow colour. The nose gives off an intense aromatic finesse on grilled and vanilla notes, with fresh fruit hints. The palate is round, strong and rich, with a fresh finish.
