The 2007 Barolo Cerretta Vigna Bricco of Elio Altare introduces the full elegance that one can obtain from the Serralunga d'Alba terroirs. The Cerretta cuvee of Elio Altare is the only Barolo produced from vineyards located outside La Morra. This 2007 Barolo is marked by black fruits, liquorice, smole or even a light note of tar. On the palate, it is strong with pronouced tannins and woody, liquorice flavours. The 2007 Barolo Cerretta Vigna Bricco finish of Elio Altare is elegant and long.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
With the 2007 Barolo Cerretta Altare demonstrates the elegance that can be coaxed from this site in Serralunga. The Cerretta is the only Barolo Altare makes from vineyards outside his hometown of La Morra, but the house style nevertheless comes through in spades. Dark fruit, tar, licorice, smoke and scorched earth are some of the nuances that flow from this muscular, virile Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2032.
