2011 Gevrey-Chambertin (Pinot Noir)
Domaine Faiveley's Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Combe aux Moines was named after the monks of Cluny. La Combe aux Moines (the monks' combe) refers to the small valley where monks of Cluny use to gather after a hard day's work during the construction of Gevrey Castle. The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru La Combe aux Moines is a 100% Pinot Noir growing on 19 ha (46.9 acres).
The nose reveals fresh red fruits and spices, complemented by subtle wood and empyreumatic notes from maturation. Very pleasant, round and persistent palate with fruity and wooded flavours. This elegant 2011 Burgundy offers silky tannins that lead to a distinguished and very long finish.
