Domaine Henri Bourgeois’ 2013 La Bourgeoise is 100% Sauvignon produced from old vines growing on flint slopes that originally belonged to Saint-Satur monks.
Deep, substantial, amber-tinted, red hue, the first nose exudes cherry, chocolate, cafe liegeois (French desert coffee) notes, and hints of flint. This Sancerre opens up quickly to reveal luscious scents of ripe blueberries. The palate offers a forward attack and defined tannins with lovely grain. Empyreumatic flavours add complexity and crunch. The 2013 La Bourgeoise should drink well now or from 2019 to 2022.
