Description
The Terres Brûlées 2016 of Jean-Luc Colombo : a red wine with silky tannins
A 100% Syrah red wine produced in the Cornas appellation, the Cornas Terres Brûlées by Jean-Luc Colombo benefits from vines aged 40 years on average and planted on parcels of granitic sand on the hillsides of Cornas. Jean-Luc Colombo's Terres Brûlées is aged in oak barrels.
After an extremely mild winter and rains in February establishing a water reserve, the 2016 vintage of the Jean-Luc Colombo estate saw budburst at the beginning of April, followed by a slowing of vine development due to 15 days of cold weather. The organic agricultural practices used by the estate allowed the vines to perfectly manage these particular climatic conditions. The Terres Brûlées harvest took place late between September 28th and October 11th, with a very pleasant harvest.
Displaying shades of purple, the Jean-Luc Colombo Cornas Terres Brûlées 2016 blends power and freshness on the nose, revealing notes of wood fruits and freshly ground pepper. The Terres Brûlées 2016 is fairly juicy on the palate, with dense yet silky tannins.
