Saint-Joseph Anges 2014 de Louis Chèze : a red win with harmonious tannins

The Saint-Joseph Angels of Louis Chèze is a single-varietal Syrah red wine produced in the Saint-Joseph appellation. This vineyard benefits from vines aged 50 years on average and planted on dark migmatite granitic soils. The ageing of the wine is carried out exclusively in new oak barrels for an average of 22 months.

Louis Cheze’s Anges 2014 has a beautiful ruby colour that is clear and deep. The nose is very complex with notes of black fruitssweet spices and hints of wood. In the mouth, it has a straight-forward attack with harmonious tannins. The finish is very long and persistent. Can age for 10-15 years.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Coming from 50-year-old vines and granite soils, the 2014 Saint Joseph Anges offers a beautiful bouquet of ripe black raspberries, spiced meats and dried herbs. This gives way to a rounded, supple, impressively textured and concentrated red that has a terrific mid-palate and plenty of length. It's a rock-solid success in the vintage and will have a decade of longevity.
