Côte-Rôtie Bellissima 2015 of Louis Chèze: a red wine with of great complexity
Originally from a vineyard of 35 hectares in the Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and Vin de Pays appellations, Domaine Louis Chèze is a family property that was rebuilt in 1978. It is located on the upper slope of Limony, on the right bank of the Rhone River. Produced since the 2006 vintage, the estate’s Bellissima cuvée is a single-varietal Syrah that comes from vines whose average age varies between 30 and 45 years.
Displaying a clear, deep garnet colour, Bellissima 2015 reveals an extremely complex nose of red fruits and soft, finely woody spices. On the palate, the cuvée is rather delicate with very persistent tannins and finish. The Bellissima 2015 cuvée of domaine Chèze offers a potential for ageing from 5 to 8 years.
