The 2012 Hermitage Le Chevalier de Sterimberg of maison Paul Jaboulet-Aîné is a blend of 70% Marsanne and 30% Roussanne, which confers to the wine complexity and elegance. The 2012 vintage presents a particularly fresh and nervous style. On the palate, it unveils citrus aromas, flint, gunflint, as well as white flower hints such as acacia and honeysuckle. The 2012 Hermitage Le Chevalier Sterimberg offers a dense and tight outline which gradually develops a definite richness and depth throughout tasting.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
I reviewed the 2012 Hermitage Chevalier de Sterimberg last year, and it hasn't budged an inch since that time. Possessing a Burgundian feel in its flinty minerality, white flowers, apple and brioche-scented bouquet, it's medium to full-bodied, laser focused and has gained a subtle almond paste quality on the finish. Drink it over the coming decade or more.
