La Chapelle cuvee gets its name from the small Saint Christophe chapel that overlooks the terraced vineyard of domain Paul Jaboulet-Aîné. It comes from old vines of Syrah, planted on rich and varied soils of Hermitage appellation. This legendary cru carries the richness of its different exceptional terroirs through its complexity.
This elegant purple-tinted opaque red 2010 Paul Jaboulet-Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle, gives off intense aromas of blackberry, liquorice camphor with a subtle mineral hint. The palate is vigorous and floral, with a fine smoke and a vibrant finish on spices and red berry notes. The 2010 vintage is an equivalent of the superb 2009 vintage.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The inky colored 2010 Hermitage la Chapelle is a blockbuster in the making, but is certainly not for those craving instant gratification. Massively concentrated and dense, it offers sensational minerality to go with tons of dark fruits, bacon, black olive, beef blood and graphite. Building in the glass and showing more and more mid-palate density and serious amounts of tannin, this serious, chiseled and structured Hermitage needs to be forgotten for another decade.
