2014 Barossa Valley, Southern Australia.
This wine carries the number 8 because, for the ageing process, the barrels numbered Bin 128, Bin 28 and Bin 389 were used. 8 being the common factor. The 2014 Barossa Valley Bin 8 from Penfolds is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Shiraz.
The wine displays a very dark colour. It gives off graphite and blackcurrant notes, mark of the Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine then develops on tomato, cherry and red berry aromas to end on a barely perceptible wood touch. On the palate, the Penfolds 2014 Barossa Valley Bin 8 is medium-bodied and reveals an aromatic palette of praline, spices and fruits such as plum or redcurrant. It offers fine, woody and blended tannins.
