Description
A High-Altitude Cabernet Sauvignon with Notes of Cedar
BOND Estates, founded by legendary Californian vintner Bill Harlan, made its inaugural vintage in 1997. In the year 2000, a brand new winery was built and dedicated to this new line of unique wines from Napa Valley. The BOND portfolio includes five wines: five single-vineyard, single-variety Cabernet Sauvignon cuvées offering genuine expressions of their celebrated terroirs of origin. The Pluribus 2014 by BOND is made with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the 7-acre Pluribus vineyard, planted in volcanic bedrock soils at altitudes between 1,100 and 1,300 feet above sea level on the slopes of Spring Mountain. Here the vines enjoy a mix of different exposures, including north, east and southeast. This vineyard is surrounded by a conifer forest, which is thought to lend a subte cedar fragrance to the vines from Pluribus. A shade in the afternoons also contributes racy tannins and a nice acidity to the finished wines.
The BOND Pluribus 2014 is a high-altitude Cabenet Sauvignon with a very refined, alluring and polished character. On the nose, this Napa Valley Cabernet expresses striking floral fragrances, along with blueberry jam, roasted coffee, hints of spice, lavender and the signature cedar of the terroir. On the palate, the flavours are incredibly bold, rich and concentrated. A beautiful acidity and well-integrated tannins hint at a fantastic ageing potential. Keep at least 5 years before uncorking.
