Roberto Voerzio : Sarmassa di Barolo 2010

2010 Barolo, pure Nebbiolo, Piedmont

The great Piedmont domain Roberto Voerzio introduces its 2010 Barolo Sarmassa cuvee. It is a pure, strong and charming Nebbiolo. It releases an intense nose on ripe black fruits, liquorice and tar fragrances with a hint of minerality. On the palate, tannins are firm but the texture is silky. Hazelnut, cocoa and coffee flavours persist on the palate after the last sip. This 2010 Barolo Sarmassa requires a few years ageing in the cellar in order to express its full potential, up until 2030 for the most patient.
