The estate
Located on the banks of the Gironde estuary, Château Charmail has established itself as one of the finest references among the exceptional Crus Bourgeois châteaux on the left bank of Bordeaux.
The vineyard
Château Charmail 2021 is an Haut-Médoc wine produced from a 28.5-hectare vineyard. The vines are 31 years old on average and are planted on clay and gravel soils. The estate is currently converting to organic farming.
Vinification and ageing
Manual harvesting. Cold pre-fermentation maceration (5°C) for 10 days. Extraction at 21 degrees maximum. The wine is aged for 12 months, 85% in 500-litre barrels (50% of which are new wood) and 15% in egg-shaped concrete tanks.
