Domaine de la Solitude

Domaine de la Solitude image

One must seek the origin of the name of Domaine de la Solitude within the rules of the Association de la Sainte Famille: pray in the silence of solitude. The sisterhood moved to the estate in the 19th century and continue to live there today. In 1993, the sisters decided to entrust the vineyard management to Olivier Bernard, owner of Domaine de Chevalier, with a lease of 40 years. Following the example of Chevalier, Domaine de la Solitude produces Pessac-Leognan grapes rich in colours and flavours vintage after vintage and as M Bernard says, "A great wine is always born of a great grape."
