Description
The roundness and complexity of a Cornas red wine
The estate
Stéphane Robert created the Domaine du Tunnel in 1994. The name of the estate makes reference to an old stone tunnel, 170 metres in length, which Stéphane Robert converted into a winemaking and ageing cellar in 2014. The property stretches across 5 communes and 10 hectares of old vines, on a superb hillside terroir of granite and limestone. Stéphane Robert has consistently developed wines that have established themselves as references in the heart of the Saint-Joseph, Saint-Péray and Cornas appellations.
The vineyard
This Domaine du Tunnel cuvée is a Cornas wine that comes from a selection of 50 plots from the hamlets of Sauman, Combes, les Côtes, les Mazards, Cayret, Patou, Les Eygas and Champelrose.
Winemaking and ageing
Separate ageing over 14 months in three-wine casks.
Blend
Syrah (100%).
