A rich and wonderfully complex Burgundy white wine
The estate
Since its creation in 1928 by Henri Claudius Trénel, the Maison Trénel has enjoyed renown for its for its fruit liqueurs and wines from the great terroirs of Burgundy and Beaujolais.
Combining respect for family tradition with a constant quest for quality and authenticity, Maison Trénel works with a number of winemakers, including the emblematic M. Chapoutier.
The vineyard
"En Terre Noire" 2020 from Trenel is a Saint-Véran wine that stems from a vineyard in the eponymous hamlet. Grown according to organic farming principles, the 42-year-old vines are planted on red clay soil with a very high proportion of limestone. This great terroir gives the wine a rare aromatic richness.
Winemaking and ageing
Immediate racking following a light settling. Vinification using indigenous yeasts, at a temperature of between 20° and 21°C in one-wine oak barrels, with regular stirring of the lees. 100% malolactic fermentation. Aged in the same barrels as vinification.
