Burgundy’s Saint-Véran appellation covers about 700 hectares in the Mâconnais. It is shared between the Chânes, Chasselas, Davayé, Leynes, Prissé, Saint-Vérand, Saint-Amour Bellevue and Solutré-Pouilly communes. The vines are planted on soils consisting of limestone, marl, rock and clay. The wines produced in the Bourgogne Saint-Véran appellation are only whites from the Chardonnay variety. Burgundy Saint-Véran unveils fragrances of fruit, white flower, vegetable, dried fruit, sweet spice, honey and empyreumatic notes. There can also be added subtle notes of exotic and citrus fruit. On the palate, the wines are quite dry, mineral and show a great roundness. They offer a splendid structure that combines harmony, freshness, roundness and a great vinosity.
