A Greek white wine radiant with finesse and vivacity

The Estate
Founded in 1995 by two passionate enthusiasts, Angelos Iatridis – now cellarmaster – and Makis Mavridis – vineyard manager –, Alpha Estate quickly rose to become one of the benchmarks of Greek wine. As early as 2011, the estate began widely distributing its cuvées internationally, and distinguished itself by appearing in the “Best 100 Wineries” ranking of Wine & Spirits Magazine in 2014, 2019 and 2021. In 2020, Wine Enthusiast even named it “European Winery of the Year.”

The Vineyard
Covering 220 hectares, Alpha Estate’s parcels are spread across six distinct vineyards located in the heart of the Amyndeon appellation in Greek Macédoine. The estate practices sustainable and mindful viticulture, committed to preserving soil balance and ecosystems. This responsible approach was rewarded as early as 2008 with the “Sustainable Viticulture” certification.

The Wine
The cuvée Malagouzia Turtles Single Vineyard comes from vines located in the “Turtles” zone, at an altitude of 670 meters. Facing northwest, they rest on clay-limestone soils that contribute to the wine’s finesse.

Winemaking and aging
After manual harvesting, the grapes are sorted, destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with careful skin-contact maceration. The wine then rests on fine lees for two months, with regular bâtonnage, to gain in complexity and texture.
