The 2009 Bricco Sarmassa is a Barolo with with a big nose, lots of jammy red raspberry fruits, a little citron peel, some spicy fruitcake notes and a hint of incense. The palate is rich and almost soft at first with a finely acidic mineral edge, providing power. The tannins are ripe and supple. The lovely depth of savoury fruits is supported by a fruity finish
