Description
The fruitiness and smoothness of a Rioja red wine by Lopez de Heredia
The estate
Founded in 1877 and among one of the three oldest wineries in La Rioja, the Lopez de Heredia bodega is an essential reference among the most beautiful Spanish wines. A rare family-run winery, Bodega Lopez de Heredia has been making fine red and white wines for several generations, enhancing the potential and richness of the booming Rioja wine region. The Bodega’s wines are recognised well beyond the Spanish borders for their complexity, their structure, their aromatic richness and their great ageing potential
The vineyard
Bodega Lopez de Heredia overlooks a 170-hectare vineyard split into 4 independent vineyards: Tondonia, Bosconia, Gravonia and Cubillo.
The vintage
The 2010 vintage in Rioja was characterised by very little rainfall and a particularly cold month of June, which had an impact on yields. The harvest took place under perfect weather conditions. The grapes harvested were excellent quality.
The vinification and ageing
This wine is aged for 5 years in barrels. 2 rackings are carried out each year.
The blend
This Vina Bosconia Reserva 2010 by Lopez de Heredia is a blend of Tempranillo (80%), Garnacha (15%) as well as Mazuelo and Graciano.
