Description
The typicity and balance of a white wine from Patagonia
The estate
The son of the famous Argentinian oenologist, Jorge Riccitelli, Matias Riccitelli founded the eponymous estate in 2009. Located in the province of Mendoza, this estate watches over a 20-hectare vineyard that spreads over three unique terroirs in the foothill of the Andes Mountains.
Matias Riccitelli passionately produces Argentinian wines whose refinement and aromatic richness beam beyond borders.
The vineyard
Matias Riccitelli's Old Vines from Patagonia Sémillon 2021 is a Patagonian wine that stems from grapes harvested in the Allen area, in the province of Rio Negro. The vines are over fifty years old on average and are planted between 435 and 500 metres above sea level on a limestone soil composed mainly of alluvium and silt.
Vinification and ageing
The grapes are harvested by hand in 20 kg crates and are rigorously sorted before undergoing a 5-day skin contact maceration. Fermentation in French oak barrels. Aged for 8 months in the same containers used for fermentation, then blended.
The blend
Sémillon (100%).
