Chateau Barbeiranne 34-hectare vineyard includes multiple terraced parcels lying on very pebbly soil. The vineyard located on Maures Moutains hillside benefits from great sun exposure and mild Mediterranean weather. Legend has it that Marcus Aurelius armies brought the Syrah in the region: the grape variety thrives in warmer weather, and matures late. Later on, Grenache and Cinsault were also planted adding the familiar warmth and fruity character of Provence wines. More grape varieties followed, allowing the production of fine red wines: Mourvedre, Ugni Blanc, Rolle, and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the pure spirit of this unique terroir, Chateau Barbeiranne shows delicate fragrances, powerful aromas, and fruity flavours.
